This video is one of my favourite groups: Northwest Battle Buddies, an organization in Washington state that trains dogs to help veterans suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome. UPS helped with a donation. So can we!
"Nothing can prepare you to see the lives that get changed because of the gift of a dog." Shannon Walker (Founder & President) #WishesDelivered. Northwest Battle Buddies is a nonprofit that rehabilitates shelter dogs to be service dogs for U.S. veterans with P.T.S. – all at no cost. As a company with a long history of hiring &supporting veterans, we were honored to grant their wish. Share your wish on http://bit.ly/1tq5jqT and we'll also donate $1 to charity. Museo Ischel
Tuesday was a magical day. I returned to Museo Ixchel with Hermana Province, a native Mexican and wife of our mission doctor. She was more excited about the fabrics than I am, and educated me about the fabrics from various Guatemalan villages. She also spoke with the museum store attendant, who was very knowledgeable about what was in the store. We had a great time in just over an hour. That's the perfect way to visit anything: when you are ready to go back the very next day! Rain, Rain and More Rain: At night I walked out of the temple to a clap of thunder overhead and lots of people standing under the narrow temple portico, watching a drenching rain. I waited a few minutes and then thought "I can walk home in this! It will be much more of an adventure than standing here for who knows how long." So I splashed with my little umbrella to the guardaria, where my favourite temple guard handed me a large black umbrella and sent me home with a uniformed escort. The rain was coming off the roofs exactly like it is in the photo below. I don't think the guard thought I would float away.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is be where someone really needs you:

Dad and I are helping re-establish the YSA program in our barrio/ward. Here were flowers for tonight's first meeting. Our topic was "Spiritual Gifts." We had four people and a 5-yr-old child at this first meeting. Next week we meet here again for a worldwide YSA broadcast from SLC. The young people are organising a dinner of typical Guatemalan food as prelude to the tv presentation.
