Querido Familia y Amigos:
We intended to leave at 6 am for Lake Atitlan on Monday. Sunday night we got a call from the Provinces, the missionaries who were going with us and providing transportation. It was raining and expected to continue for the entire week. Friends of the Provinces had rolled their car on the road to Lake Atitlan, so the Provinces decided to stay home. We thought about going anyway, but for the first time since we've been here, it rained for 24 hours. We wanted to zip-line, kayak, boat across the lake, hike, and none of those sounded fun in the rain. We stayed home too.
Tuesday the rain stopped and Dad went to the temple to assist with sealings. Then he went walk-about, meaning he intended to try out new cars and get us a rental. The day turned out to be a national holiday, so he is no nearer choosing a car for home. He did come back with a small rental car. We left for Atitlan Wednesday morning.
