Happy Birthday, Christina and Caroline!
Primer Noche de Hogar con Presidente y Hermana Norman
Monday night we had our first FHE with our new temple president. We all told about ourselves, our missions and what we have learned from them. I told the group how much I enjoy working with YSA. We've had that privilege on two missions now, and will miss the young people here when we leave. I also told them that I loved my time in the temple, and bore my testimony that the temple really is the Lord's house. We get clearer inspiration and answers there than anywhere else on earth.

Our time at the Caribbean in Guatemala
We took a 6-hr bus ride from Guatemala City to Puerto Barrios on Wednesday. Good advice: take the best bus you can. In the evening we watched two cargo ships arriving and being loaded. The next day we spent the morning at Las Escobas, an extended series of waterfalls and pools outside town. In the afternoon, we took a water launch to Livingston, a town is approachable only by sea. Launch from Puerto Barrios: 30 minutes. Ferry: 1 1/2 hours at 9mi/hr - peaceful and well worth your time. It's even cheaper, a little.
Puerto Barrios is a small muddy tropical town. Livingston has more Caribbean influence, with black settlers. We had excellent food. Our hotel was on the beach, via stairs. I've never before been in a warm ocean. The water was bathtub temperature and our beach extended out for maybe 1/4 mile or more before the depth got to our necks. The beach sand was close to the color of my drawing below. We didn't go to Playa Blanca or the white beach.

Flower corner:
Well, it happened. This hibiscus measures a full 8" across, and I wasn't fertilizing the bush. Eric, the temple gardener, pruned it hard - much to my dismay at the time. Pruning works and so does fertilizing.
Love to all!
