Querido Familia y Amigos:
Dad brought this video to Story and Scripture time. I was so touched I'm passing it on. All of you fathers, grandfathers, and now young priesthood holders, pay careful attention. All of you sisters and mothers, you may have tears. Certainly you can teach the children.

We began our week with inviting the O'Hare family to dinner: Michael, Loveth, Joseph and Lydia.
Monday we went to the area missionary dentists, on the far north of the city from our apartment. We met young elders-to-be from Quetzeltenango who had never had dental work done. We also met two sisters from Honduras.
Wednesday we practiced drowning......I mean, walking in the rain. The large umbrella is from the temple guard house.
Friday we walked to Dad's "interval hill" where he works to keep himself in shape. On the way we found ourselves in a demonstration. The demonstrators had blocked both lanes of traffic, on a bridge coming off the main highway on onto Vista Hermosa, which runs by the temple. They were protesting corruption in Guatemalan government and had banners showing four men they want behind bars. Dad said it was an example of corruption fighting corruption. When we came back, the roads were still blocked. A produce truck was in the "no man's zone," and workers were carrying large boxes of food to demonstrators. We headed home, but saw law enforcement trucks and armed men arrive. We followed them back to the blocked bridge and waited to see what would happen. When all they did was show themselves, we walked on home.

Love to everyone and have a great summer, especially all the children just out of school! There are cosas nuevas (new things) to see on pages "Oh the Flowers" and "It All Begins With Music", not to mention the miniature, and I do miniature, ant crawling on my computer as I write. I can't show you the ant (who is in a big hurry), but you can see and hear wonderful things if you take a few minutes on those pages.
